Central Tucson, Arizona

The Central Tucson is an area has two main areas of activity, the historic downtown core and the area near the campus of the University of Arizona.

The historic downtown area bordered to the west by the I-10 and the dry Santa Cruz River is home to the El Presidio district which has art galleries, cafes and restaurants, the Tucson Museum of Art and the and the Tucson Convention Center.

The area near the University is a typical 'off-campus' area with cafes, places to eat and other common student services. The main tourist attraction is the Arizona State Museum, located on-campus.

Most hotels and motels in Central Tucson are located near the historic downtown core and are within walking distance of area attractions.
